Adding Social Media Feeds
Why Add Social Media Feeds?
Social Media Feeds serve a number of purposes on your page. They help direct users to your department or office's social media accounts, provide a bit of personality, and help ensure there is fresh content constantly being displayed on your page (that's assuming you keep your social media updated!). Drupal offers easy ways to display content from your department or office's Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Adding a Facebook Feed
Drupal displays Facebook Feeds in two columns — on the left, a title and text description of the feed, and on the right, a scrollable feed of Facebook posts.
- Open the editor for the piece of content you'd like to add your Twitter Feed to. (See Accessing the Page Editor if you're not sure how)
- In the Sections area of the editor, either add a new section or click Edit on an existing section.
- Under Content, click the arrow of the drop-down menu. By default, the drop-down displays Add Text. Choose Add Social Facebook from the drop-down menu.
- You should now have a Facebook Feed widget added under your content area. Add a title for the feed in the Title field. This will display as a header in the left column.
- Add text describing your Facebook presence in the Text field. This may include a link to your Facebook page.
- Add your Facebook username in the Username field. This is the text following "facebook.com/" in your Facebook page's URL. For examples, Colgate's username is "colgateuniversity".
- Add a short descriptive name for your feed in the Display Name field.
