Adding Campus Services and Resources Links

What are Campus Resources and Services? Why should I link to them?

The new Campus Resources and Services (CR&S) section of the website is designed to work like a knowledge base for the whole Colgate community. Individual articles in a large, searchable database explain how to perform specific tasks that would otherwise be hard to find without knowing who to ask. They provide a place on the website to host informational, action-oriented instructions and resources for internal audiences such as current Colgate students, faculty, and staff. 


The Basic Page content type has built-in functionality for adding a sidebar that can display up to 5 CR&S Links.

  1. Open the editor for the Basic Page you'd like to add the sidebar to. (See Accessing the Page Editor if you're not sure how)
  2. Click the "Campus Resources and Services Sidebar" tab at the left of the editor screen. It will be beneath the "Details" and "Hero" tabs.
  3. Check the box for "Show Info Box". This turns the CRS sidebar on.
  4. The fields Info Title and Info Text are both optional. They will allow you to add some explanatory text before and after the list of links. Note that the sidebar will display the title Campus Resources and Services whether Info Title is filled in or not. Info Title allows you to add a secondary title. Info Text will add text beneath the list of links.
  5. Click the URL field and begin typing the title of the Campus Resources and Services page you'd like to link to. The page you're looking for will appear in a drop-down under the header Content - Resource. You may have to scroll through a list if the word you're searching is common. Click the page once you have found the one you want.
  6. The Link Text field will automatically populate when you select a URL. You may change it if you wish to have text appear in the link that is different than the title of the page.

Adding a CRS Widget

A formatted, full-page-width list of Campus Resources and Services links can be added to any content.

  1. Open the editor for the piece of content you'd like to add your a CRS widget to. (See Accessing the Page Editor if you're not sure how)
  2. In the Sections area of the editor, either add a new section or click Edit on an existing section.
  3. Under Content, click the arrow of the drop-down menu. By default, the drop-down displays Add Text. Choose Add Campus Resources from the drop-down menu.
  4. You should now have a Campus Services and Resources widget added under your content area. Use the text editor to add links to Campus Services and Resources pages and any explanatory text you need. Note that the widget will display a CRS header and a button link to the CRS homepage.
