Using the Revision History

Drupal's Revision History feature allows users to view and revert to older versions of their content without losing their work. This can allow users to rotate the appearance of a page seasonally, or easily return to a previous state in case of a mistake.

Reverting to a Previous Revision

  • Navigate to your content's Page Editor. See Accessing the Page Editor for instructions.
  • Click the "Revisions" tab at the top of the screen.
  • Choose the correct revision and click the "Revert" button.
  • Click "Revert" again on the next page.
  • Drupal will create a copy of your revision and set the copy as the current revision. Click the "View" or "Edit" tab to confirm you selected the correct revision.

Notating Your Revisions

It's easier to keep track of which revision is which if you notate your revisions, making notes of your edits as you make them.

When editing a piece of content, before saving, make notes of the edits you made in the "Revision Log" field on the toolbar on the right side of the screen.
